SIGN UPS: Paradox Sands

Time.... the continuing process of existence. It constantly progresses... tick, tick, tick. This roleplay takes place in 2024.The Economy of the United States continues to decline, and unleaded has reached 6 USD per gallon. the United States, aswell as England and France simultaneously were victim of an organized anarchist revolution, which caused the United States to withdrawal forces from the middle east, resulting in the Taliban regaining complete control of Afghanistan. This, of course, did not last beyond 2016, when coalition CIS forces lead by the Russians invaded and quickly overtook the new government there. The invasion, however, used much oil, causing Russia to raise it's oil and natural gas prices for export further up. Amidst the hardship, a rover sent to mars with the purpose of researching geothermal activity detected something sticking out of a cliff face, just under the surface. A pocket of some sort. There was much analysing what it could be, before they made a conclusion - Titanium. Need be said more? The second space race began that day. Within 3 years, there were installations on Mars by the United States, Russia, Canada, France, Germany, England, China, Japan, and Brazil. Our story begins in the Canadian Installation, just after a find on the Ground Penetrating Radar - something massive. Titanium is never found underground - it is usually in the mountains to the east, where they have the mining operation set up. Speculations across the installation run rampant - some say they are giant pillars, others say they are just pockets of titanium deposits. Whatever it be, the excavation team composed of scientists and military were about to find out. . .

BIO:
Jason grew up in Toronto, Ontario, son of a geologist. He grew up with fascination of space, foreign planets, and asteroids. At age 18, he was accepted into Toronto University and double majored in Astronomy and Mineology. When he was 29, he was assigned to a special team that was to land on an asteroid and collect samples of the surface in 2025, but he was re-assigned to the Canadian Mars project before he got to go.

BIO: SPIKE WAS BORN TO A TYPICAL MILITARY FAMILY IN QUEBEC, A YOUNG COUPLE, FATHER IN THE ARMY, MOTHER GRADUATED COLLEGE WITH A DEGREE SHE WILL NEVER DO ANYTHING WITH BECAUSE SHE IS A MOTHER NOW, RAISING A YOUNG CHILD. SPIKE WAS THE FIRST OF FOUR, SO HIS MOTHER NEVER HAD ANYTING ELSE TO DO. SPIKE DID POORLY IN SCHOOL AND WHEN HE REACHED THE AGE OF 18 HE ENLISTED. HE NEVER GOT TOO CLOSE TO ANYONE, AND NEVER GOT COMFORTABLE IN ONE PLACE AS THE GOVERNMENT HAD HIS FAMILY MOVING FROM BASE TO BASE, EVEN AFTER THE FATHER WAS SENT AWAY. Appeal: Frazzled, chaotic black hair is a mop set atop Adren's head. Slender in build, he has long limbs and wide, brown eyes. Lightly tanned skin; dresses religiously in grey, from his loose-fitting shirt (Collar never buttoned), to his pants and shoes. In fact, the safety goggles and gloves he can often be seen wearing are also grey.
Personality: Prone to panic and supersition. Although he looks at things anylitically and scientifically, he still has phobias that often dictate his life. He is a germaphobe and although not quite afraid of bright colors, hot pink and in-your-face shades drive him nuts. Quirks aside, he's generally very self-centered and opens up to very few people. When he does open up, he becomes dependent and needy, which has caused him heartache in the past, with his several short-lived dating relationships. He consequently has 13 total FaceBook friends.
Bio: Born in Halifax, Novia Scotia, child of an impregnated teenager. He was put up for adoption and was raised by the Eustache family. He has never met his real family, and he doesn't even know his real last name. He has set himself against knowing this information; he likes his adopted family far too much. Patrick Eustache was a college professor, Robert Eustache a doctor. Both intended upon raising a highly intellectual child, but due to their own inability to produce a child, their baby Einstein did not inherit their intelligence. No, no; all of his intellect had to come from nurture, for nature possibly had robbed him blind (But who is to tell?). Andre was homeschooled, and now at the age of 25, he has been formally requested to join the Mars mission. Intrigued by the hype of the findings and thrilled with how this would appear on his lifetime resume, he has accepted the offer, dismissing the rumors as more nonsense than anything.

APPEAL: Mostly wears a red combat uniform. He stands at 5'10" with short black hair that is usually covered by a boonie hat. He has green eyes that are normally hidden by dark red sunglasses.
PERSONALITY: Tends to be skeptical and cautious, especially since they are on an alien world. He follows orders, but often challenges ones he does not like. (He has been threatened with insubordination multiple times)

BIO: Kurt joined the military right out of high school and was tapped for a military equivalent of Third Echelon (Splinter Cell). The Canadian govt has decided to keep an eye on thier neighbors and protect thier investments and Kurt is the latest addition to that team. He arrived on-world about a year ago and has been assigned to guard the expedition due to high probability that the other nations may become hostile to take control of the discovery.

BIO: With an Arabic mother and an English father, Millicent's army brat upbringing gave her a lot of discipline and a lingering unwillingness to bond with people she knows she'll have to let go of soon enough. She jumped at the opportunity not to lead the life her mother and father led, but old habits die hard. She completed her education in the top of her class at Cambridge scarcely a month before the country came under siege. She saw the chaos and since then has become more than a little jaded and misanthropic. She was spirited away to Toronto by her connected parents where she continued her research into the depths and the contents of space. She made her first trip 2020 and she adores the high she gets drifting amid the solitude of the darkness...

Normally you should not post in an RP's main thread until your character has been approved by the person(s) in charge of the RP. In this case, you really should've waited for Ed/Mr. Russian name to give you the OK to post.

No big deal, but just keep it in mind for next time, please.

Oh, I'm so sorry. lol We'd been talking in skype about the rp, and I thought he was okay with my character. My mistake. I'll await his go ahead before posting further and edit is he sees fit.
