Fire for the Witch - a short poem about the salem witch trials
*sigh* time to get my first horrible noob post out of the way...
this is a poem i had to do for my seventh grade english class. sorry it's so short, its just a series of quatrains. i have always had a strange fascination with the salem witch trials. anyways, here goes nothing...
Fire for the Witch
Jeers and cheers ripple in the crowd
as they see the first licks of fire.
In the little town of Salem,
when will trials finally tire?
As the heat reaches the people's faces,
witches succumb to the blaze.
In the little town of Salem,
they think of it as God’s praise.
Their victim has once again fallen
to the cruelty of their conclusion.
In the little town of Salem,
their beliefs are mere confusion.
it's definitely not my best, but please comment.
just so i get a taste of how harsh the criticism is here.
thanks for not mobbing my meet the dummies post with hate comments by the way ^^

Well. I like it. But there's a good chance Sara, whom you met earlier, will deliver harsh criticism. Because he's a critic of sorts, or as I prefer to word it, "someone who always wakes up on the wrong side of the bed of nails". Let him be merciful when he sees this!
I don't see much to criticisize, to be honest. Very nice descriptive language; "licks of fire", etc. Nice work.
