Dummy Awards 2009

Post by Silent Lamb on Mon Dec 21, 2009 4:17 am

The First Annual Dummy Awards were held from December 1st to December 20th in Role Playing For Dummies. Six categories, many winners and awards. Let's look back on the victors and the runner-ups as the days fade to weeks, the weeks to months, the months to years. I personally look forward to another great year of Dummy'ing with you all, with friends new and old. The following are the winners of the first Dummy Awards, with their respective awards:

---------------------------

Role Play Of The Year

Graves Under Gotham

Role Play Starter: Silent Lamb
Participants: Silent Lamb, Tintin, DelilahHarkett, Saradamon
Summary: The Dark Knight, a film masterpiece in its own right, takes a different plot-route midway in this RP story. Harvey Dent never becomes Two-Face. Instead, he is allowed to die at the hands of the Joker (Tintin), this time around his girlfriend the one to survive. The Joker comes to her "rescue", and Rachel Dawes becomes Harley Quinn (Silent Lamb), a woman whose only goal in life is to be with her new hero. They stumble upon John Grayson (DelilahHarkett) when they attack his school. The boy holds a grudge against his adopted family and joins the two in their next operation: The destruction of the busiest bridge in all of Gotham City. Inner battles rage as the three try to come to terms with who they are and who they are not. Also featuring Batman (Saradamon) and James Gordon (Silent Lamb).

They have been divided into two teams at random, with the promise that the winners will have their deepest wishes fulfilled. The last team standing takes all in this battle to the death, proving that there is no honor among theives or villains.

Best Ongoing Story

Kingdom Hearts- Daraku

Author: Silent Lamb
Main Characters: Senka, Kage, Uso, Tifa, Sephiroth, Morph
Summary: Kage and Senka live in The City, a world controlled by an oppresive government and its unmerciful police, The Green. They found sanctuary in a
small hole in the ground, and once inside they can truly feel alone and safe underneath the mundane life above. It was all so normal for them, but soon everything took a complete change in direction. Kage dreamt that he had been chosen to save his world and Senka, and when he awoke, he found his home to be under attack by beings known as Heartless. Wielding the mysterious Keyblade, he and Senka fought their way out of The City, unable to save it. Kage now lives to make sure that he doesn't fail his friend, and at the same time bring justice to the man that started this all- Sephiroth. This is a Kingdom Hearts fanfiction, taking place in a total of six new Disney-themed worlds. Features three original characters, many favorites from various Final Fantasy games, and four members of Organization XIII.

Song Of The Year

"Welcome To The Future"

Artist: Brad Paisley
Written By: Chris DuBois
Album: American Saturday Night
Genre: Country
Lyrics:
Spoiler:
When I was ten years old,
I remember thinkin' how cool it would be,
When we were goin' on an eight hour drive,
If I could just watch T.V.

And I'd have given anything
To have my own PacMan game at home.
I used to have to get a ride down to the arcade;
Now I've got it on my phone.

He-e-ey...
Glory glory hallelujah.
Welcome to the future.

My grandpa was in World War II,
He fought against the Japanese.
He wrote a hundred letters to my grandma;
Mailed em from his base in the Philippines.

I wish they could see this now,
Where they say this change can go.
Cause I was on a video chat this morning
With a company in Tokyo.

He-e-ey...
Everyday is a revolution.
Welcome to the future.

He-e-ey...
Look around it's all so clear.
He-e-ey...
Wherever we would go and well we...
He-e-ey...
So many things I never thought I'd see...
Happening right in front of me.

I had a friend in school,
Running-back on a football team,
They burned a cross in his front yard
For asking out the home-coming queen.

I thought about him today,
Everybody who's seen what he's seen,
From a woman on a bus
To a man with a dream.

He-e-ey...
Wake up Martin Luther.
Welcome to the future.
He-e-ey...
Glory glory hallelujah.
Welcome to the future.
